【質實剛健】（しつじつごうけん）
“Shitsujitsu Gouken”
飾り気がなく、真面目でたくましく、
しっかりしているさま
Aim to have a diligent spirit, a strong mind and an honest heart.
※大切なことは、心と体を鍛えて、
つらいことにも耐え忍び、
力強く立ち向かってゆく精神力を育てることです。
※目標を持ち、それに向かって努力をすること。
努力とは
①あきらめない心、
②頑張る心を持ち、
③一所懸命やり続けることです。
①②③のどれか一つでも欠けたら、
それは努力とは云いません。
努力をしなければ目標達成できない、
だから努力をすることなどは
大切なのだということを覚えてほしいと思います。
※今後、区民大会をはじめ、様々な試合に
出場する機会も増えると思います。
剣道は勝ち負けが全てではありません。
上に書いたような心の修行の方が大切です。
しかし子供たちは純粋です。
試合に出れば誰もが勝ちたいと思うのは
当然だと思います。
勝った時は、一緒に喜んで、
多いに誉めてやってください。
子供たちは益々やる気が出て、更に稽古に励み、
メキメキと上達するでしょう。
万一負けた時は、努力すれば必ず勝てると励まし、
背中を押してやってください。
そして努力をした結果、勝った時の子供達の
満面の笑顔を見てあげてください。
子供達は、きっと努力する大切さを
感じ取ると思います。
We make our own targets and put effort into achieving them. The three key elements are:
1) don’t lose heart
2) every practice give 100% of your effort
3) focus on your short and long term goals
With these elements, we can achieve our targets.
We have many opportunities to join competitions, such as the Edogawa district taikai. To lose is not to fail, rather, to lose is a valuable learning experience, from which we can return stronger. In victory, children can also become more motivated and practice harder, leading to rapid improvement. Please see the children’s smile when they win - they have discovered the value of effort.
Finally, we will teach kendo and take care of children. We will make an effort to make you think “it was good to introduce them to kendo” and “it was good to join Koiwa Kenyukai.”
